Crochet, Braided, Infinity Scarf

Lately, I have been crocheting a ton of scarves. I think after making four afghans for Christmas, I enjoyed taking on small crochet projects that did not take more than three months to complete! I happened to see a crocheted, braided infinity scarf on Pinterest and it looked simple and cute so I decided to give it a try. Come to find, it is very simple.

With my first one in Grey Marble, I braided it very loosely so the braids are not that well defined. With my second one, in Wheat, I only crocheted four rows of double crochet and braided more tightly.

Here is the pattern I followed.

Materials:

  • Vanna's Choice Yarn- I made one in Grey Marble (2 rolls of yarn) and one in Wheat (2 rolls of yarn).
  • 6 mm crochet hook
Directions:
  • Chain 120
  • Row 1: start with 3rd chain from hook, dc across
  • Row 2: Ch 2, turn and dc across.
  • Row 3-5: Repeat row 2 and finish off.
  • Repeat the above for a total of three strips
  • Whipstitch the three strips together, with one laying on top of the other. Braid, then whipstitch the three loose strips together just like the other end. Finally, whipstitch the two ends to one another.
I plan to make many more braided scarves to give away as gifts, hope you guys give it a try.

Crochet Chunky Infinity Scarf

This holiday season, I found myself in one heck of a crochet mode. I was busting out one crochet project after another. Unfortunately, I had to refrain from posting my projects since most were Christmas gifts for my family and friends. So get ready from some crochet blogging overload!

This chunky infinity scarf has to be one of my favorite scarves I created so far. I wanted something easy and quick to whip up and this was exactly it! All you need to know is how to chain and double crochet...doesn't get any easier than that! It is so warm and cozy for the winter, I still have not made up my mine if I will be giving it away or keeping it for myself (I am leaning towards the latter)!

Some specific details on my scarf:
  • Chained 120 (the number of chains does not matter, it depends on how long or short you want your scarf to be).
  • Completed 7 rows of double crochet
  • Measurements: 36 inches long, 7 inches wide
Below is the pattern I made up:

Materials-
  • Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick & Quick in Wheat (2 rolls)
  • N/10 mm crochet hook
Directions-
  • Loosely chain 120.
  • Slip stitch the chain to form a ring, make sure there are no twists in the chain!
  • Row 1: Chain 3. Double crochet in each chain. Slip stitch to the top of the chain 3,
  • Row 2: Chain 3. Double crochet in the BACK LOOP of each double crochet. Slip stitch to the top of the BACK LOOP of the chain 3.
  • Repeat Row 2 till you reach your desire width and fasten off, weave in the ends.

Hopefully you guys give this pattern a try and it you do, post a picture or let me know how it turned out!

Casual Winter

The temperature has definitely fallen, we even saw our first dusting of snow! My favorite thing about the cold weather is putting on a comfy over-sized sweater, stretchy leggings, some simple jewelry accent pieces, and throwing my hair back in a ponytail. Finish the look with a smoky natural makeup and it's time to cuddle up on the couch!
What are some of your favorite cold weather looks?

Casual Brunch Outfit

So this weekend, mother nature made it clear that fall is upon us. We were having such a beautiful fall that she tricked me into believing it would never end. The chill in the air inspired this outfit. A cozy sweater, comfortable jeans, and pair of calf-hugging boots with a touch of color from the nails and necklace.

Elegant Dinner

One of my favorite fashion style is to dress a nice pair of jeans up! It creates such a simple elegance that I adore. It gives the outfit a sense of sophistication without taking things to seriously. So a dark wash jeans with a lace top, gold accent jewelry, neutral shoes and makeup with wavy hair is my perfection!

Obsession: EOS Lip Balms

One of my greatest pet peeves is chapped lips! I am well known to have some kind of lip balm stashed at every location I can possibly think of, bathroom, car, office, purse, coffee table, bedside table....etc. Unfortunately, my lips are very sensitive and most lip balm, gloss, or lipstick will cause my lips to inflame and chaff. It has been a tedious journey to find a lip balm that would not reactive to my lips and I have found it in EOS' lip balms. They come in a variety of fruity flavors, works wonders at keeping my lips well moisturize, and hold up well in the heat. My only qualm with it is it is quite bulky, which makes its portability a little difficult if I want to head out with just a small clutch or no purse at all. Other than that, I can not live without these lip balms!

Have you discovered these wonderful beauties and if so, what is your favorite flavor?

Summer Romper

Rompers are one of my favorite outfits for the summer. They can be dressed up or down and are always so comfortable.
