Crochet Chunky Infinity Scarf

This holiday season, I found myself in one heck of a crochet mode. I was busting out one crochet project after another. Unfortunately, I had to refrain from posting my projects since most were Christmas gifts for my family and friends. So get ready from some crochet blogging overload!

This chunky infinity scarf has to be one of my favorite scarves I created so far. I wanted something easy and quick to whip up and this was exactly it! All you need to know is how to chain and double crochet...doesn't get any easier than that! It is so warm and cozy for the winter, I still have not made up my mine if I will be giving it away or keeping it for myself (I am leaning towards the latter)!

Some specific details on my scarf:
  • Chained 120 (the number of chains does not matter, it depends on how long or short you want your scarf to be).
  • Completed 7 rows of double crochet
  • Measurements: 36 inches long, 7 inches wide
Below is the pattern I made up:

Materials-
  • Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick & Quick in Wheat (2 rolls)
  • N/10 mm crochet hook
Directions-
  • Loosely chain 120.
  • Slip stitch the chain to form a ring, make sure there are no twists in the chain!
  • Row 1: Chain 3. Double crochet in each chain. Slip stitch to the top of the chain 3,
  • Row 2: Chain 3. Double crochet in the BACK LOOP of each double crochet. Slip stitch to the top of the BACK LOOP of the chain 3.
  • Repeat Row 2 till you reach your desire width and fasten off, weave in the ends.

Hopefully you guys give this pattern a try and it you do, post a picture or let me know how it turned out!

Casual Winter

The temperature has definitely fallen, we even saw our first dusting of snow! My favorite thing about the cold weather is putting on a comfy over-sized sweater, stretchy leggings, some simple jewelry accent pieces, and throwing my hair back in a ponytail. Finish the look with a smoky natural makeup and it's time to cuddle up on the couch!
What are some of your favorite cold weather looks?

Casual Brunch Outfit

So this weekend, mother nature made it clear that fall is upon us. We were having such a beautiful fall that she tricked me into believing it would never end. The chill in the air inspired this outfit. A cozy sweater, comfortable jeans, and pair of calf-hugging boots with a touch of color from the nails and necklace.

Elegant Dinner

One of my favorite fashion style is to dress a nice pair of jeans up! It creates such a simple elegance that I adore. It gives the outfit a sense of sophistication without taking things to seriously. So a dark wash jeans with a lace top, gold accent jewelry, neutral shoes and makeup with wavy hair is my perfection!

Obsession: EOS Lip Balms

One of my greatest pet peeves is chapped lips! I am well known to have some kind of lip balm stashed at every location I can possibly think of, bathroom, car, office, purse, coffee table, bedside table....etc. Unfortunately, my lips are very sensitive and most lip balm, gloss, or lipstick will cause my lips to inflame and chaff. It has been a tedious journey to find a lip balm that would not reactive to my lips and I have found it in EOS' lip balms. They come in a variety of fruity flavors, works wonders at keeping my lips well moisturize, and hold up well in the heat. My only qualm with it is it is quite bulky, which makes its portability a little difficult if I want to head out with just a small clutch or no purse at all. Other than that, I can not live without these lip balms!

Have you discovered these wonderful beauties and if so, what is your favorite flavor?

Casual Sunday

Another easy Sunday outfit. Nothing better than a flowy light shirt to lounge around in on a beautiful Sunday. Paired with strappy sandals, stacked bracelets, a pendant necklace and jean and the outfit is complete.

Enjoy your Sunday,

Obsession: HomeSpot NFC Bluetooth Adapter

When tablets first started hitting the market, I bought a docking system so I could play music or watch videos as I got ready for work in the morning or as I do chores around the house. Unfortunately, the docking stations tend to be pretty specific to one device or brand. So when I purchased a new tablet, I had to use an unsightly auxiliary cable in order to play my music and videos. I was feeling such heartache about buying a new docking system, knowing that this was only a vicious cycle as technology evolved. One day, as I was wondering an electronic store, I was approached by a salesman and I expressed this annoyance. The salesman then did something I did not expect him to do, he told me about an adapter that would alloy me to access the docking system via bluetooth even it the system did not have bluetooth capability. They did not even sell this adapter in their store so I was so thankful for a saleman who actually cared about his customers!

The first thing I did when I got home was research this new piece of information. I ended up buying the HomeSpot NFC-Enabled Bluetooth Audio Receiver for Sound System. I have been obsessed with it since the day I received it! It is compatible with most bluetooth capable devices and has about a 66 feet transmission zone. It is small, sleek, easy to use, and can store up to eight paired devices. It plugs into the receiver of any A/V receiver, stereo system, or speaker through a standard RCA or 3.5 mm jack (a UL-plug adapter is included). Best of all, it is very reasonably priced.

I loved it so much I purchased an additional adapter for my other docking station!

Simple, Summer, Day Wedding

A summer, day wedding calls for a light hint of color. This gorgeous yellow, pink, and coral colored, one shoulder dress is the perfect mix of color and elegance. To avoid from stealing the attention of the dress, I paired it with neutral, strapped heels, studded earrings, and stacked bracelet. A simple updo also helps put this dress on display while adding to the beauty of the ensemble.

Lazy Sunday

I am known for my lazy Sundays. Most Sundays, I will complete a few chores and then spend the rest of the day relaxing and getting ready for the work week. So a lazy Sunday calls for a lazy comfortable outfit, which for me is a t-shirt, relaxed jeans, messy updo, and some comfortable shoes:

Summer Wedding

Summer is quickly approaching and that means wedding season is coming. A whole day spent celebrating means a simple and elegant attire is a must. I like surrounding a colored outfit will neutral accessories, letting the dress shine on its own. This blue dress would compliment any skin tone and show off your gorgeous shoulders! A simple updo will let this chunky necklace and simple dropped earrings shine. Simple, wedge, comfortable heels to finish the outfit.

What do you think?

Obsession: The GAP's Shimmer Cheek Stick

I was out and about one weekend with my husband when he was gracious enough to suffer through some outlet shopping with me! As I prepared to checkout at the Gap Outlet, some good deals on creme shimmer cheek sticks caught my eyes. I am a huge fan of creme blushes simply because my skin is on the drier side pretty much all year round so these types of blushes provide me with a little more hydration than a powder one would.

The color pay off is absolutely beautiful, it blends well, and has nice staying power. To top it off, you cannot beat the sale price of about $5.00 (I'm not sure what the regular price is, but I think it was $9.99) for the amount of product you get. Although the name of this shimmer stick is Bronze Babe, it is actually more of a mauve hue that gives a natural flush to my cheeks. I also purchased a coral one, but I have yet to break into it although I am pretty certain I will love it too!

So next you guys stop by a GAP Outlet, keep your eyes out for these beauties. If you pick up a stick, let me know what you think!

Obsession: Clinque's Take the Day Off

After a long, hard day at work, I must admit that the first thing I want to do when I arrive home is to take it off! My make-up that is ;) I have been searching for a decent make-up remover for quite some time. My ultimate goal was to find one that would take off both my face and eye make-up, especially waterproof eyeliner and mascara. I am not a very patient person, so having to stand there while my eye cleanser soaked then reach for another remover to take off my foundation was just not working for me. Particularly, when I am still left with eye-makeup residue after all that effort. I even reached a point where I stopped wearing any make-up on my eyes just to avoid having to take it off at the end of the day! That was how irritated I felt.

My other issue was finding a cleanser that worked with my eczema prone, sensitive and extremely dry skin. I know this seems like a lot to ask, but I was bound and determine to find it. After countless hours of researching online and talking to beauty and department stores, I stumbled on Clinique's Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm:

I have been using it now for almost five months and I can not live without it! Reasons why I will purchasing this cleansing balm over and over again:
  • Takes off both eye and face make-up
  • Effect against waterproof make up
  • Gentle on the skin
  • Non-greasy, non-drying
  • Does not irritate or cause me to breakout
  • Starts as a solid and becomes an oil
  • Easy to use
  • A little goes a long way
  • Reasonably priced
Definitely a must try if you are looking for an all in one make-up remover!
